About This Drink
Zonin Cuvée Zero starts as a wine made from grapes and grape must, then goes through a dealcoholisation process that takes it down to 0.2% ABV. The aim is to keep the fruit character intact while stripping out the alcohol, and to a reasonable extent it works. The colour is pale straw yellow with a delicate, fine carbonation that holds up well in the glass. The nose is fresh and clean: pear and green apple with some citrus and a light floral quality. On the palate it's light-bodied, slightly round, with enough sweetness to make it feel complete rather than thin. The finish is short and soft, fading without much drama. It sits in a crowded space of dealcoholised sparkling wines, but it's well made for what it is. Serve well chilled, around 6 to 8°C.
