Rosé
Dealcoholised still rosé from Germany, made from Merlot, Portugieser, and Pinot Noir, with raspberry and rosehip character and a dry, gently tart finish.
About This Drink
From the Leitz winery, this blends three grape varieties less commonly seen outside Germany: Merlot, Portugieser, and Pinot Noir. Like the rest of the range, the wine is fully fermented before the alcohol is removed using vacuum distillation at low temperatures. In the glass it is a classic pale pink. The nose leads with red berry fruit: raspberry and rosehip, with a sour rhubarb note that stops it from reading as sweet. On the palate it is light and fresh, with a tartness that sits comfortably alongside its dry character. Clean acidity throughout, with nothing that overstays. A reasonable pick as a still rosé when you want something dry rather than fruity-sweet.
