Vita Libera comes from The Wine People, an Italian wine group responding to growing demand for alcohol-free alternatives. The name means "free life" in Italian, and the brand targets a broad global audience that avoids alcohol for reasons ranging from health to religion to personal choice.

The range features Italian varietals dealcoholised using vacuum distillation at low temperatures. This gentler process preserves freshness and varietal character better than harsher methods. The Pinot Grigio shows tropical fruit with passion fruit and lychee notes, balanced acidity, and smooth texture. The Primitivo from Salento delivers ruby colour with fresh red berry character and a persistent finish.

Rooted in Italian winemaking tradition, Vita Libera aims for authentic wine character rather than sweet grape juice. The varietals taste like the grapes they're made from, maintaining the regional identity that Italian wine drinkers expect.

The vintage-style bottle labels show figures diving and jumping, capturing a sense of carefree lightness. It's an unusual design choice in a category that tends towards austere minimalism.

Available through Dry Drinker, The Alcohol Free Co, and specialist retailers. The Italian pedigree is real, and the dealcoholisation method is among the better ones used in the category.
