To Øl logo

To Øl started in 2010 as a gypsy brewery, designing recipes and having them contract-brewed at facilities across Europe. Founded by two Danish teachers, the brewery quickly gained a reputation for experimental, flavour-forward beers that pushed boundaries. In 2019, they opened their own brewpub in Copenhagen, giving them a permanent home while maintaining their adventurous spirit.

Their alcohol-free offering, Implosion, brings To Øl's creative approach to the 0.5% category. Rather than simply removing alcohol from an existing recipe, they've designed Implosion specifically as a non-alcoholic beer, using their brewing knowledge to maximise flavour within the constraints of low-alcohol production.

To Øl sits in the new wave of Scandinavian craft brewing that treats beer as a creative medium rather than just a commodity. Their full range spans everything from classic styles to wild fermentations and experimental ingredients. That willingness to experiment means their AF beer benefits from genuine brewing innovation rather than corporate box-ticking.

The Copenhagen taproom gives visitors a chance to try the full range fresh, though To Øl's beers distribute widely across Europe and beyond. Their distinctive label designs make the bottles instantly recognisable on shop shelves.

One AF beer in the catalogue is a modest footprint, but it's a considered one. A brewery with this much range and creative ambition could expand that offering further if the appetite is there.
