Veltins
Veltins has been brewing in Grevenstein, in Germany's Sauerland region, since 1824. Clemens Veltins founded the brewery, and his great-great-granddaughter Susanne now runs it. That family continuity across two centuries shows in their approach: traditional pilsner brewing with proper attention to ingredients and process.
The brewery grew substantially under Rosemarie Veltins in the 1960s, becoming one of North Rhine-Westphalia's largest producers. Today, Veltins ranks among Germany's top-selling beers, built on their flagship pilsner's reputation for crisp, clean refreshment.
Their alcohol-free pilsner follows the same standards. Natural spring water, malted barley, and hops combine according to the German Purity Law. The brewery makes full-strength pilsner first, then gently removes the alcohol to preserve the character. It pours pale gold with that familiar beery bitterness and tangy finish.
At 0.0% ABV, this is a true zero option. The body is slender and the character elegant, though some will find it lighter than they'd like. That's the trade-off with German purity: no added ingredients to boost body or flavour.
Available at specialist retailers including Dry Drinker in the UK. German pilsner credentials, nearly two centuries of brewing history, and no alcohol.
