Chance
Chance arrived in 2024 with a simple premise: cider drinkers deserve better alcohol-free options. Founded by John Logue, who cut his teeth in the low-and-no space at Lucky Saint and Crossip, the brand spotted a gap that seemed obvious in hindsight. The UK cider market is enormous, yet most pubs still struggle to offer a decent AF alternative.
Based in Stockport with production handled by Aston Manor in Worcestershire, Chance takes an interesting approach to creating their 0.5% ABV cider. They start with a traditional strong cider fermented from British bittersweet apples, then carefully dealcoholise it to preserve body and character that most alcohol-removal processes strip away.
The flagship Clean Cider pours a pale amber with genuine apple aromatics. Crisp orchard fruit leads, lifted by citrus notes and a gentle sparkle. It finishes dry rather than cloying, which sets it apart from sweeter AF options in the category. Gluten-free and vegan, it ticks the dietary boxes without making a fuss about it.
For a brand this young, Chance has gathered recognition quickly. The London Beer Competition named Clean Cider its Cider of the Year, and it has picked up strong press attention from publications including The Guardian.
You can find Chance at The Wine Society, Amazon, and direct from their website. On the hospitality side, Prezzo carries it alongside a growing network of independent bars and venues.
